Buttermilk can be substituted for other milk products (including non-dairy milk), but this tends to reduce the standard of moisture on the cake.( I'd no bake cakes for some time before we had an oven ) i basically had no raisins at the time because it was really last second but i worked it out with nuts! My spouse and children and I loved it a lot.
